David Rand

Biography

David Rand received his B.A. at Harvard and his PhD at Yale in Biology, and did postdoctoral training in population genetics at Harvard.  He is the Stephen T. Olney Professor of Natural History and Chair of the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Brown University where has has been since 1991. His research program uses the Drosophila model to dissect the epistatic interactions between nuclear and mitochondrial genomes that affect fitness, aging and disease.
